Background Story

As an international student with high ambitions, Jessica’s journey to matriculating at a top-tier university was not without its challenges. Jessica’s path to success began with her decision to attend an all-girls boarding school in the US. This move allowed her to broaden her perspective by making friends from different walks of life and immersing herself in a dynamic and inclusive environment. With hard work and determination, she completed her high school studies with an impressive 3.75 GPA. Despite her academic achievements, her high school college application fell short of her targets. As a result, she enrolled at NYU to pursue a degree in International Relations, reflecting her passion for global affairs and desire to make a positive impact on the world.

While studying at NYU, Jessica realized that she longed for a different kind of academic and social environment. She knew that she needed a transfer consultant to help her navigate the competitive transfer process and find the perfect university that would offer her the resources and support she needed to excel in the field of international relations. That’s when she connected with us here at Transfer Goat.

Transfer Goat Strategy

During her initial consultation with The Goat, Jessica mentioned her experience working at an orphanage in Kenya. While she knew that this experience was important to her and had helped shape her passion for global affairs, she was unsure how to effectively convey its impact in her application and essays. Fortunately, extracurriculars are our specialty, and The Goat immediately knew how to help Jessica develop and tailor her past experience in Kenya in a way that would help her stand out among other applicants.
Over the next nine months, The Goat worked closely with Jessica to identify the key experiences she gained from her time in Kenya, such as cross-communication, leadership, and commitment to social impact. Together, they were able to craft compelling essays that showcased Jessica’s passion for global affairs and demonstrated how her experiences had prepared her to excel at a top-tier university.
